Savannah, established in 1733 was planned around a system of squares, surrounded with buildings in a variety of architectural styles such as Georgian Colonial and Greek Revival. Savannah beats out all other Georgia cities in historic interest.

The birthplace of the colony of Georgia, Savannah was the colonial government and the capital of the state until 1786.
